Pray Tonight For Christians In India

10th January 2006

Dear Brothers and Sisters in America,

Love and greetings to you from
Central India Christian Mission. Just want to share an urgent prayer request with you. As some of you know that our present Hospital building is over 100 years old and is limited to 50 beds.

We have been planning to build a new hospital building. Still, with limited resources, stepping into faith we are starting the construction of the 1st phase of the building. The ground breaking ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow (11th January 2006). We have the teams from Central Christian Church, Carmel, Indiana, Indian Creek Christian Church, Indianapolis and FAME with us. We are planning for a public function for the ground breaking ceremony tomorrow at 10 a.m. (11:30 PM EST, Tuesday, January 10, 2006)

Well, today we have received 5 telephone calls from different extremist groups saying 'since hospital is being used for Christian witness we should not expand this building'. Other doctors in town are also supporting these extremist groups. Since our state is ruled by the Hindu legalistic political party (BJP), even some government officials are coming to us saying 'do not have this ceremony as there may be problems during the ceremony and even afterwards'.

Please know, we are going to move ahead with what we believe is God's plan for the mission. We are doing our best for security. However, with thousands and thousands of extremists around us, we thought we will share this prayer request with all of you. We will be grateful to you if you pray as soon as you get this letter. We will keep you informed.

With grateful hearts,

Ajai & Indu Lall with CICM
