Captain's Log - Random Thoughts

You can't do it all. You can't please them all. You can't have it all. You can't enjoy it all. But you can lose it all trying to do the impossible things listed above.

People are looking for hope but are often let down because they look for it in the wrong place.

Faithfulness brings hardship and then deliverance in due time.
Unfaithfulness brings comfort and ease and then destruction in due time.

Sin is not worth the price and repentance is a limited time offer.

I have always longed to be someone great, to do great things, accomplish great goals and be remembered and respected. Ahh, are these not the seeds of pride?

We all need to sacrifice ambition to the will and purposes of God. Even ambitions to do great things for God that may not be his will must be sacrificed. Who's glory are we truly interested in? His or ours?

Peace only comes to us when we are selfless, which makes it hard to find when we want it for selfish reasons. Peace can only be enjoyed when it is the byproduct of living selflessly in pursuit of God's will. When finding peace is our goal rather than doing God's will, peace will never be found.
